NEW CONTENT NEEDED, NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

There has been no new content for quite some time. I am preoccupied with helping Obama win the election, and will return to music stuff if there is still an America after November 4th.

SCRAP IRON!

September 17, 2008 by bucks1414

Met a street musician tonight in Deep Ellum in Dallas – he was blowing harp and singing “Tush” by ZZ Top. Very strange and charming experience. Said his name was Scrap Iron. Got his number; I always get their number!

AMY AND ERIC GET RESTLESS

September 14, 2008 by bucks1414

Restless Eric and Amy Rigby rocked Dallas, Texas to the ground Friday night (Sept. 12) and Hurricane Ike paled in comparison. Simply put, they were made for each other. And they made the most of it.

THE HUNTER AND THE HUNTED

Bucks Burnett had lunch with Ian Hunter, Chris Frantz, Tina Weymouth, and Ian’s lovely wife Trudi on July 29th in Danbury, Connecticut. In a word, Italian.

HEADS IN BOXES

August 31, 2008 by bucks1414

Namedropper president Bucks Burnett just returned from a 2 week visit to the New York area, where he did some creative work for Chris and Tina from Talking Heads. “I mainly took things out of boxes, looked at them, and then put them back into different boxes. NEW YORK DOLLS VS. RALPH STANLEY

April 21, 2008 by bucks1414

On Monday, April 20, the Granada Theater presented a fantastic double header; two different gigs but only two hours apart at the same venue were ultra legends Ralph Stanley and the New York Dolls. I was fortunate (and smart) enough to attend both events, and will soon publish a full length review in the Music News section. In the meantime, I will say that it was an extraordinary evening full of great songs, personalities, and contradiction. Ralph Stanley has class out the ass, and New York Dolls were crass crass crass. Too much perfection for one little evening. The people watching factor alone justified the admission fee – and yes, several people attended both gigs. Those were the REALLY SMART PEOPLE.

This marks a new beginning for Walking The Blog, official bloggy for Namedropper Media. All the old posts are saved – somewhere, we think, and may be part of our summer rerun series in the near future.
