Really smart people call this ‘archiving’. I call it looking through way too much cool stuff.”
NEW YORK DOLLS VS. RALPH STANLEY
April 21, 2008 by bucks1414On Monday, April 20, the Granada Theater presented a fantastic double header; two different gigs but only two hours apart at the same venue were ultra legends Ralph Stanley and the New York Dolls. I was fortunate (and smart) enough to attend both events, and will soon publish a full length review in the Music News section. In the meantime, I will say that it was an extraordinary evening full of great songs, personalities, and contradiction. Ralph Stanley has class out the ass, and New York Dolls were crass crass crass. Too much perfection for one little evening. The people watching factor alone justified the admission fee – and yes, several people attended both gigs. Those were the REALLY SMART PEOPLE.
